Lydia Wei '24, a 2021-2022 CESTA intern, has authored a piece for the Stanford Daily, "Last days of summer: The photography of ‘PaJaMa.’"

Lydia's article analyzes the work of the photography collective 'PaJaMa,' whose early 20th-century photographs capture a dreamlike atmosphere that feels both fresh and modern. Lydia is an Arts and Life Columnist for the Stanford Daily, and you can explore her previous work here.

Lydia's work during her CESTA internship was also oriented towards visual design and the representation of scholarly research through art. She worked with CESTA DH Graduate Fellow Dewei Shen, a scholar of ancient China, on a project offering a new explanation for the development of the Chu empire. You'll be able to read more about it in our forthcoming 2022 Research Anthology. In the meantime, you can read our previous anthologies here.

Congratulations, Lydia, we can't wait to read more from you!
