CESTA Launches New Program for Graduate Students!

CESTA is thrilled to announce the launch of the Digital Humanities Graduate Student Professionalization Program! This unique opportunity invites graduate students to develop hands-on experience in Digital Humanities (DH) through a structured framework of learning, mentorship, and collaboration.
Spanning two quarters—Winter and Spring—the program blends coursework, independent study, and faculty-led research initiatives to provide students with essential DH skills and professional experience. Participants will:
- Build foundational DH skills in methodologies like text analysis, geospatial mapping, and multimodal data visualization.
- Explore campus resources such as libraries, research units, and technology infrastructure.
- Engage in collaborative research and gain valuable project management experience.
- Access mentorship and professional networks within CESTA’s vibrant community.
- Tailor involvement to align with personal academic and career goals while contributing to faculty-led research teams.
- Participate in conference presentations and co-author academic papers.
Winter Quarter focuses on building foundational knowledge through workshops and hands-on exploration of DH methodologies and projects. Spring Quarter offers a one-unit independent study, allowing participants to dedicate time to specific research teams for deeper engagement.
Whether you’re new to Digital Humanities or looking to strengthen your expertise, this program offers a supportive and immersive environment to build skills, make connections, and contribute to meaningful research.
