CESTA research published: the GMH project at the NMAAHC

CESTA Affiliate Cecil Brown’s research on the slave poet George Moses Horton was recently featured by the National Museum of African American History & Culture in their exhibit about The Power of Poetry: Pre-Civil War to Reconstruction.

Cecil Brown’s work on George Moses Horton is one of the longest running projects supported by CESTA’s Spatial History Project and moving now to explore the possibility offered by VR to recapture the lost world of the oral poetry of the illiterate George Moses Horton, with the help this past quarter of CESTA interns Kyle Nguyen and Zoe Wallace.
