Fyza Parviz (Poetic Media Lab) to present at upcoming Renaissance Society of America Virtual Conference

CESTA affiliate Fyza Parviz of the Poetic Media Lab and her collaborators will present their research at the upcoming Renaissance  Society of American Virtual Conference.  Their workshop, "John Greaves (1602-52) and His Multilingual Marginalia," will be hosted virtually on Friday, December 2nd beginning at 11:30 am PST. Register to attend the virtual workshop here.

About the workshop: This workshop explores one of the largest digital archives of multilingual annotations by a single early modern scholar, John Greaves (1602–52), which the team has put together over the past year and a half. The researchers have developed a curated Stanford Library Spotlight website with examples of Greave's marginalia in English, Greek, Latin, Arabic, Persian, Turkish and Italian. They aim to identify recurrent problems—concrete and epistemological—that are encountered in deciphering and framing the manuscripts historically.
