Intern Spotlight: Christopher Tan
Christopher Tan
Chris Tan is a rising sophomore majoring in Computer Science, with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence. He is passionate about the environment and social justice, and intends to use his skills and knowledge to realize a more equitable and sustainable society. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, listening to music, and taking photos of nature.
At CESTA, he works on the Land Talk project, sharing personal stories of environmental change over time from across the world. Throughout the summer, Chris is working on developing the Land Talk website and designing curricula for environmental education.
CESTA fascinates him because it recognizes the complementary nature of humanities and engineering fields, bringing them together in research projects. He hopes to learn more about traditional humanities fields as well as how interdisciplinary research is conducted.
