Project Led by Giovanna Ceserani Receives Schmidt Sciences Award
Congratulations to former CESTA Director Giovanna Ceserani and her team, including Stanford colleagues Richard Roberts, Ali Yaycioglu, and Diyi Yang, selected as a 2025 Humanities and AI Virtual Institute (HAVI) awardee by Schmidt Sciences, to undertake the project SETS: A Set-Based Architecture for Knowledge Structures.
HAVI supports interdisciplinary teams creating new AI methods to advance scholarship across archaeology, literature, art history, linguistics, film studies, and more.
This year’s cohort includes 23 research teams receiving a total of $11 million to develop AI tools that deepen our understanding of human history and culture.
