CESTA’s Research Assistants are now in week 5 of the summer program, and we’ve been hard at work with translating, mapping, and coding, but we’re never too busy to recognize some of the amazing work being done in the digital humanities community! Below is a list of projects Research Assistants were inspired by, found interesting, and came across during their investigations into digital humanities. We wanted to make some special shoutouts to the digital humanities centers and various projects that our RAs discovered!
Here are the projects that our RAs highlighted:
- West Michigan University - NSDAP collection
- UCLA Center for Digital Humanities - The Archive of Ritual, Healing and Transformation
- Berkeley Digital Humanities - Z-Lab Rondo Project
- UCLA Center for Digital Humanities - Tweet Reader
- UCLA Center for Digital Humanities - Mapping Indigenous LA
- Harvard University Arts & Humanities Research Computing - Chinese Text Project
- UChicago Digital Humanities Forum - Xiangtangshan Caves Project
- Academia Sinica Center for Digital Cultures
- Leiden University Centre for Digital Humanities - Communication and Empire: Chinese Empires in Comparative Perspective
- UCLA Center for Digital Humanities - East Asian Studies Macroscope
- University of Birmingham Digital Humanities Forum
- The Refugee Project
- Equal Justice Initiative - Lynching in America
- MARKUS
- Harvard University Arts & Humanities Research Computing - Chinese Biographical Database Project
The digital humanities world is always evolving and making new groundbreaking discoveries, and we’re thankful to have such a robust and diverse community!

I’m Huanvy Phan, a rising sophomore majoring in Asian American Studies and Philosophy. I’m working as a Communications Assistant this summer, which involves helping with the day-to-day intercommunications between the RAs and managing this blog. I’m beyond thrilled to be working with CESTA and I’m eager to dive into the world of digital humanities.
