Eric Harvey
Eric Harvey holds a PhD in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University with a specialization in Bible and the Ancient Near East. He is currently a PostDoc at CESTA, co-directing the NEH-funded Braille in Ancient Studies project with Professor Mark Algee-Hewitt. Last year, he was a Fellow of the American Council of Learned Societies. His research areas include material processes of textual transmission, blindness and disability in the ancient Middle East, and the political economy of myth and ritual. He previously served as CESTA’s 2021-22 Digital Humanities Postdoctoral Fellow and an ACLS Emerging Voices Fellow. His research combines Book History, Material Philology, and Evolutionary Biology to reconceptualize Hebrew Psalms over the longue durée.
