Joel Cabrita

As a historian of modern Southern Africa, Joel Cabrita examines the transnational networks and media forms of that region. Her Visible Bodies project brings light to often forgotten female writers of 20th-century Africa through interdisciplinary research culminating in a digital archive. One of the writers in question, Regina Twala, is also the topic of her current book project, a biography now under contract with Ohio University Press.
