Mustafa Emre Günaydı is a first-year History PhD student in Ottoman and Middle East history. His principal research interests include the socio-economic and environmental histories of the late Ottoman and British Mandate periods in Iraq with a specific focus on the transforming water infrastructure of the region. 

Furthermore, he exhibits a keen interest in integrating digital history tools into his research endeavors. In pursuit of this objective, Presently, he dedicates himself to mastering QGIS and ARCGIS and acquiring proficiency in basic coding principles. 

Currently, he contributes to OpenGulf, co-directed by Nora Elizabeth Barakat and David Joseph Wrisley, a transdisciplinary research group analyzing historical texts produced about the Gulf.
