Shelley Fisher Fishkin works primarily on literature and social justice through a variety of angles ranging from transnational American Studies to the development of feminist criticism. At CESTA, she is co-director of the Chinese Railroad Workers of America project, which employs both traditional format books and a major digital archive to tell the stories of the Chinese workers who built America’s Transcontinental Railroad in the 1860s. She co-edited the 2019 volume The Chinese and the Iron Road on the same topic.
